Project overview
Nestled in the heart of a Colorado forest, this property presented both a unique opportunity and a significant challenge: a steep, uneven topography that required a thoughtful design approach. The client's vision was to turn the sloped landscape into a functional and inviting outdoor living space while preserving the natural character of the site.
The solution focused on creating layers that worked with the terrain rather than against it. A series of user-friendly walkways connect different levels of the yard, making the space easy to navigate. A raised deck extending from the house provides an elevated vantage point to enjoy the forest surroundings, while a fireplace area beside a custom-built fountain adds warmth and serenity. The surrounding landscape was carefully designed with structural planting and stonework to reinforce the slope and establish a sense of permanence and stability.
